ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The most formative years of a child's life are spent in elementary school. Children begin forming beliefs and habits that will guide their decisions and choices in the future. Here at Kingsway Academy, we seek to ensure that students are directed by the Lord and secondly by the wise and loving hands of experienced and dedicated teachers and staff. Elementary students receive instruction in Bible, Mathematics, English Language, Reading, Science, Social Studies, Health and Spelling. Additionally they will study Spanish, Music, Computer Studies, Library Science and Physical Education.

Students are given opportunities to demonstrate their learning in class work and homework, as well as projects and oral presentations. A variety of teaching methods are employed including individual and group instruction, and remedial assistance as needed.

Each grade level plans special events to add to the educational experience. Guest speakers may speak on current issues or address a topic from one of the textbooks. The classroom is extended beyond the four walls to the MET Office, ZNS, Educulture, Dolphin Encounters, the House of Assembly and the like. Third term is the highlight of the year with travels to off-island adventures in Andros, Exuma, Long Island, Eleuthera, Abaco and Washington DC or Atlanta, USA.

Students have the opportunity to choose from a plethora of clubs offered in the Fall and Winter Terms: Dance, Mime, Discovery (BNT), Junior Hotelier, Chess, Track and Field, Soccer, Basketball, Scrapbooking, Sign Language, Cooking, Red Cross, Science, Brownies and Sunflowers. Students showcase their special talents and skills during Talent Chapel or at the Christmas Pageant and Springsation. During chapel days on Thursday and Friday, students minister the message of love and hope through Scripture reading, drama, dance, poetry and songs.

Kingsway Academy is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and is a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International).

We invite you to join our family by contacting our schools office or visiting the campus on Bernard Road.
